Artistic Director of Women’s Line: Karl LagerfeldCreative Director and Head of Accessories: Silvia Venturini FendiInspiration: An exotic and functional collection named “Urban Jungle” places emphasis on pockets adorning belts as well as clothing. Collection: A lot of work has been put into choosing the finest, subtle and most technical materials. A feminine allure with flowing silhouettes as well as more athletics looks such as tight bras and leggings. A transparent overcoat with brown leather inserts opens the show. A double F adorns leather jackets. A corset gathered at the waist once again highlights the artisanal know how of the Roman brand. An air of femininity with pleated skirts, jackets worn as a second skin and frilled dresses printed with parrots. Admire the suppleness and the lightness of the perforated leather.Coats are worn with sleeves rolled up kept in place with drawstrings and metallic fasteners. Note: New functionalities on the Peekaboo bag, the return of the baguette bag embroidered with sequins + on the front row: Nicki Minaj looks sensational in a Fendi inspired outfit.Interview with Silvia Venturini Fendi:I would say that the key word of this collection is functionality, because we really have been treating garments like they were functional accessories, you know, so you find the pockets that normally you have inside the bags, this time are placed on garments. I would say it is a collection made really for today’s women, action.Karl came into the studio with a beautiful carpet with parrots that he loves, and so this is from that, you know because I think that it gives a soft vibe to a very urban collection.Very often it’s belted and yes I think it’s a femininity that is important to give also when you have a masculine jacket, like more men’s jacket but if you have a belt well it means that you are still underlining your femininity.
