Calvin Klein Collection - Menswear Show Autumn/Winter 2015/16 in Milan with interview

Fifty shades of grey at Calvin Klein Collection. For next winter, the creator Italo Zucchelli confides in us that he can’t create a Calvin Klein collection without this colour. But equally everything revolves around the materials and textures in this urban masculine wardrobe. Sweaters are worn short and bomber style, with oversized pants in a relaxed style and large robust boots. We find plenty of pieces to ward off the cold, notably numerous aviator jackets worn close to the body with some in vinyl, as well as capes and large parkas. To note: for the first time on the Calvin Klein runway we see an animal print which remains however loyal to the house’s image, that is minimalist and refined.Interview: Italo Zucchelli: Grey – because I was inspired by black and white movies where you don’t see the colours but you see different tones of grey so that’s why this grey mélange of charcoal, light heather, different tones of grey. Also to me, grey is the quintessential colour of Calvin Klein and I never did a collection with just one colour, I usually use colour. There is a lot of outerwear in this collection, like cropped pieces, and a lot of texture, and something very new for me which was the animal print and the embossed fabric with the animal pattern. I used vinyl because it is very sleek, very polished, very modern. In the greys it looked really good and I always love something very acrylic in contrast with precious fabrics. It’s very sporty and athletic but very refined and elegant in its own way.
